Terms of service

GuelphDrops · Guelph, Ontario · Effective July 15, 2026

The short version
  • GuelphDrops is a direct P2P delivery service inside Guelph. One driver collects a package and takes it to the recipient.
  • Current pricing is $15 for eligible same-day delivery up to 10 km or $9 for eligible next-day delivery up to 5 km. The displayed fee is due at delivery, not at booking.
  • A pickup request is not a guaranteed trip until a driver accepts it.
  • We use a pickup code plus photo proof or a recipient PIN to record the handoffs.
  • Do not send dangerous, illegal, restricted, or irreplaceable items.

1.The service

GuelphDrops connects people who need a small package moved inside Guelph with an independent driver who chooses to accept the job. The driver who collects the package is intended to take it directly to the recipient. This is not a warehouse, storage, food-delivery, medical-delivery, or long-distance courier service.

When you request a trip, you give us the pickup, recipient, package, and contact information needed to offer the job to an available driver. By using the service, creating an account, or applying to drive, you agree to these terms and the Privacy policy.

2.Price & payment

A quoted price does not create a guaranteed service level. If a request cannot be accepted, it is not a completed purchase or a confirmed direct trip.

3.Pickup timing

4.What you can send

Send one sealed, ordinary package up to 10 kg and approximately a banker’s-box size: keys, documents, a small local purchase, a print job, or a forgotten personal item. Give an accurate weight and short description. You are responsible for the package contents, lawful ownership, and secure packing.

Never send
  • Cash, gift cards, jewellery, irreplaceable items, or valuables worth more than $100
  • Alcohol, cannabis, tobacco, vaping products, controlled substances, or prescription medication
  • Weapons, ammunition, stolen goods, live animals, hazardous materials, flammables, or loose batteries
  • Food requiring temperature control, open food, or anything that could spoil during an ordinary same-day trip
  • Anything illegal, unsafe, unsealed, oversized, or too heavy for the driver’s vehicle

Drivers may refuse an item that is unsafe, prohibited, or materially different from what was described. If that happens, contact support before attempting another request.

5.Handoffs & proof

6.Delivery issues, changes & cancellation

If a driver cannot safely complete delivery, they should not leave the package. They record the issue and keep the item secure while support contacts the sender about a direct retry, return, or another agreed next step. Do not assume that a failed doorstep attempt is automatically free or that another driver will take over; any additional trip is agreed case by case.

To change or cancel a request, contact support as soon as possible. A change or cancellation is not confirmed until support acknowledges it. Once a driver has accepted or collected the package, any additional trip or return must be agreed case by case.

7.Claims & limits

Report loss, damage, or a delivery dispute through the Help Centre within 48 hours of delivery or the reported issue. Include the request number and any relevant photos. Handoff records, messages, and delivery proof help us investigate fairly.

Do not send an item worth more than $100. Subject to applicable law, GuelphDrops’ responsibility for a single package is limited to the lower of the proven value of the item and $100 CAD, plus the delivery fee where appropriate. This does not cover indirect loss, missed opportunities, or items we prohibit in section 4.

8.Customer responsibilities

9.Driver terms

Drivers are independent digital-platform workers, not GuelphDrops employees. They choose whether and when to be available and which direct jobs to accept. GuelphDrops shows an offer, estimated distance, estimated time, and instructions before a driver accepts a job. Drivers must hold a valid licence, use appropriate insurance, protect customer information, and drive safely.

Drivers must follow the direct chain of custody: sender pickup code, direct route, then photo proof or recipient PIN. GuelphDrops may pause or deactivate a driver for safety, fraud, privacy breaches, repeated failed handoffs, or a material breach of these terms. Drivers retain every applicable right under Ontario law, including rights applicable to digital platform work.

10.Privacy & contact

We use personal information only as described in our Privacy policy. Drivers see job information only when it is needed to evaluate or complete a trip. For service, privacy, or safety questions, use the Help Centre.

Applicable law

These terms are subject to applicable laws of Ontario and Canada. Nothing in these terms limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
